Corruption is endemic in South Africa

This will no doubt be one of many posts about the shocking levels of institutionalized corruption and crookedness of governmental sectors in South Africa.
As someone from a first world country it came as a shock how rife it is
here. Locals have becomes hardened to it and even part of the problem.
It emerged this week that in the Kwazulu province that nearly 750 cases of corruption were reported, and this is only the ones who were caught and only in one province and only in one year (12 – 13). That’s about 3 cases every working day for the year. These are only numbers the government is comfortable allowing. Word is the actual numbers are much worse.
How can any government run with that many corrupt staff? Easy, they employ uneducated and unscrupulous people in the first place, usually due to making up numbers for affirmative action. The people are now having to sleep in this bed they made.
